Last Friday, March 14th, residents were being notified upon picking up their prescriptions at Manville's CVS that the store would be closing.

CVS has been in Manville for over 25 years. Many residents depend on CVS for their prescriptions, as well as other basic necessities. CVS was closed back in 2021 after the remnants of Ida flooded the store. The entire store had to be remodeled from the damage.

CVS in Manville will close on Thursday, April 24th. Manville.Today reached out to CVS corporate for more information:

"We've made the difficult decision to close our store at 321 South Main Street in Manville on April 24. All prescriptions will be transferred to the nearby CVS Pharmacy at 440 Union Avenue in Bridgewater to ensure that patients continue to have uninterrupted access to pharmacy care."

"Patients can always choose to fill their prescriptions at any CVS Pharmacy, or the pharmacy of their choice, if another is more convenient. All employees are being offered comparable roles within the company."

"We have 10+ CVS Pharmacy locations remaining in Somerset County and our teams will continue to provide the community with outstanding service at these locations."

It's unfortunate that CVS has decided to close their Manville location. This leaves Manville with only 2 pharmacies: Walmart, and independently-owned Easy Pharmacy located on Kennedy Blvd.
