Tomorrow, Friday September 13th, at 4pm, there will be a Special Borough Council Meeting. We will be attendance to keep you informed of any noteworthy information that comes out of this special meeting.

We also encourage residents to attend to stay informed about what is happening down at Borough Hall.

The agenda (found here) has the following Resolutions to be voted on:

Authorize Hiring Various Personnel
Authorize Agreement with Bruno Associates - Grant Writing
Approve Block Party Request
Authorize Facility Use Agreement - Manville BOE
Approve PBA Local 469 MOU
Approve 2024 Non-Union Salaries

Borough of Manville Governing Officials

Manville operates as a Borough form of government. This means that Manville is a "strong council / weak mayor" form of government. When votes are taken by Council, it takes 4 votes for a motion to pass. If there is a tie, only then can the Mayor break the tie.

For Council control by political party, there needs to be at least 4 members, or 3 with the Mayor being a tie-breaking vote.

Manville NJ has been under Republican control since 2015. The Council is made up of 5 Republicans and 1 Democrat. The Mayor is a Republican.
